Azamara Quest is a slightly more low-key ship compared to Azamara Onward and Azamara Pursuit. It joined the fleet in 2007 and underwent a major overhaul in 2019 during its latest refurbishment. The ship focuses heavily on Europe and lesser-explored destinations like South America, the Arctic, and Antarctica. If you’re looking to explore some of the world’s most beautiful corners in luxury, Azamara Quest is definitely a great choice.

Azamara is a great cruise line for those seeking a peaceful experience, and Azamara Quest is no different. This ship doesn’t offer wild entertainment or Broadway-style shows - in fact, it has just one swimming pool - and it mainly attracts guests aged 50 and over. If you’re looking to relax, enjoy a nice drink, and soak up the sun, this is the perfect ship. It’s quiet, luxurious, and carries that classic cruising vibe that many people love.
The onboard service is truly outstanding. You’ll enjoy complimentary drinks, included gratuities, and the fantastic AzAmazing Evenings (Azamara’s signature complimentary shore excursions). But most importantly, the crew members are attentive and polite, which is essential for a luxury line like Azamara. On Azamara Quest, the staff is always ready to lend a hand, and you rarely wait more than a minute or two for a drink. Two thumbs up all around!
The food onboard Azamara Quest is quite good. While there aren’t many dining options - you’ll find one Main Dining Room, a buffet, a few snack spots, and two specialty restaurants - the quality is consistently solid. It may not reach the ultra-luxury level of cruise lines like Silversea, but it’s definitely a step above mainstream offerings. The two specialty restaurants, Prime C (steakhouse) and Aqualina (Italian), are consistent across the fleet and deliver a reliable 7.5 out of 10 dining experience.
Azamara Quest is also an excellent choice for travelers looking to explore unique destinations. It’s the only Azamara ship that sails to both the Arctic and Antarctica. A 12-night Antarctica cruise starts at around $3,850 per passenger, while the Iceland Intensive Voyage begins at $1,850. The ship also offers extensive itineraries in South America, visiting countries like Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay.

The cabins on Azamara Quest could certainly be bigger. Interior rooms start at 158 sq. ft. (14.7 sq. m), while Oceanview cabins are even smaller, at just 143 sq. ft. (13.3 sq. m). For comparison, interior cabins on Celebrity Cruises generally range from 170 to 202 sq. ft. It’s important to remember that Azamara Quest is a ship with over 20 years of history, and that shows in the room layouts and overall design. Bathrooms tend to be on the smaller side and feature shower curtains instead of glass doors. While the suites provide more space and comfort, they still don’t quite match the modern luxury found on ships launched in the last few years.
Like the rest of the Azamara fleet, Azamara Quest isn’t designed for families with children. You’ll rarely spot kids onboard, and there are no kids’ clubs or child-focused activities. The ship also has only one main swimming pool. If you’re planning a family cruise with little ones, there are definitely more kid-friendly options out there.
Azamara Quest captures the essence of Azamara perfectly: unique, adventurous, and ready to visit incredible destinations ranging from Iceland to Antarctica. It’s an ideal ship for travelers eager to explore some of the world’s most mysterious and beautiful corners. While the rooms might be on the smaller side, if your priority is gorgeous destinations, you’ll absolutely love it here.
